Agnes joined MHDA in 1972 along with her daughters Kathy and Janice.  She has served in many capacities since that time including competition secretary (1982-1986), and President (1988-1990). She also acted as competition secretary at the Inter-provincial Championships held in Winnipeg in 1984.

Her involvement in the Winnipeg Scottish Community did not end there.  She has been a member of Robbie Burns Camp of the Sons of Scotland since the late 1980’s, and also served as chief of that camp. She took over as District Chief in Manitoba in September 2003.

Agnes has run the twice-yearly Sons of Scotland Highland Dance competitions since 1992.  She also has been involved in the Scottish Pavilion at Folklorama since it’s inception in 1976, serving as MHDA dance coordinator, head of the kitchen and food line and secretary for the Scottish Association of Winnipeg.

All 4 of her grandchildren have been dancers with MHDA and she continues to stay involved through their activities.
