Zoë began highland dancing at the age of 5, enjoying instruction primarily from Linda Aronson, after an introduction to the dance style from Jennifer Twomey. Zoë enjoys both the competitive and performance nature of highland dance. She is a past recipient of the Junior National Scholarship (Manitoba Dance Festival) as well as the grand prize winner of Kids Quest (Red River Ex).
Zoë is a member of the performing group “Highland Heart and Soul”. She has performed at numerous events in and outside the city, including the West End Cultural Centre, the Brandon Winter Festival, Relay for Life, The Irish Club, and more.
Beyond her love of highland dance, Zoë is also an accomplished dancer in the styles of Modern, Ballet, Jazz and Lyrical. She currently dances with the Junior Professional Program at Winnipeg Contemporary Dancers, as well as dancing with the Senior Performance Team at Promenade Dance Academy, where she currently teaches different styles of dance to youngsters. Zoë loves the artistic elements involved in the choreography of a dance and is thrilled to see the dance come alive.
Zoë is currently teaching highland dance classes at “Kids in Kilts” located at Glenwood Community Centre in the heart of Old St. Vital.
