M’Liss started Highland Dancing at the age of 5. She was taught by former Canadian Champion Delma Hutchinson-Wilson and took lessons for fourteen years. She competed locally and nationally for twelve years. M’Liss is a member of The Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing, ScotDance Canada and ScotDance Manitoba. Throughout her dancing career there were many highlights. M’Liss was in the Rose Bowl Parade in 1976 in Pasadena, California, dancing at the Rose Bowl football game and the Parade, dancing at Disney World in 1979 and travelling with the Heather Belle Pipe Band to Scotland in 1981 and performing there as a band member and dancer. M’Liss teaches Grade 1 / 2 at Champlain School in the Winnipeg One School Division. She is married and has two sons and one daughter. Her daughter Amanda takes Highland Dancing and is also on the Emerald Green Dance Team at Rising Star, taking Ballet, Tap and Jazz.
