Gaelyn McGregor is a Fellow and Examiner with the Scottish Dance Teachers’ Alliance and an adjudicator with the Scottish Official Board of Highland Dance.  She travels internationally examining, adjudicating and instructing workshops and has developed many champion dancers over the years which include her daughter Colleen McGregor.  She has been the principal teacher since 1977 of the McGregor Studio of Dance in Winnipeg, Canada holding classes in her studio as well as at Balmoral Hall School for girls. As a dancer, Gaelyn’s highlights were winning the British Overseas Adult Championship in Musselburgh, 5th Runner-up in the Adult World Championship and Best Overseas Dancer at the Royal Braemar Gathering as well as countless Manitoba and Mid-Canada Championships, 1st Runner-Up in the Intercontinental Championship, the pre-cursor to the Canadian Championships and the Northern Canadian Championship.  Gaelyn was the first recipient of the “Lord Strathcona Award” sponsored by the St. Andrew’s Society for her tireless contributions of keeping the Scottish Heritage and Culture alive in Manitoba.
