Highland Hoppers offers a summer Highland Dance Camp. Scheluded at the end of summer, just in time to get the brain in gear for the upcoming season! In a casual cottage atmosphere, camp includes 24 hour supervision, transportation one way, meals, snacks, accommodation, and of course Dance instruction.
( minimum of 3 hours per day)
Other activities include water sports, crafts, campfires, movies and more!
Fee: $150.00
Dancers will meet at 10 Sabine Cres, Monday August 25th 7:00pm
Dancers are to be retrieved on Thursday August 28th . Parents can arrive anytime after 4pm. There will be a potluck BBQ at 6pm, followed by our Camp Concert at 7pm. Maps will be available.
Please return permission form with payment by June 15, 2008.

Highland Dance Retreat
Sept. 19-21 2008
Join us at Camp Arnes for the very popular Highland Dance Retreat featuring the SPICE GIRLS. Besides highland dance classes (special Championship classes for Premier – INTRO TO THE NEW 2009 CHAMPIONSHIP STEPS) which take up most of the day, you'll have fun making themed crafts, swimming, nature hikes and much more. Saturday night is our "party" night when the Honeycombe turns into a STAGE! – You’ll have a laugh “spicing up the night” performing your “spiced up” version of the highland fling! Have fun in advance choosing to be an existing “Spice Girl” or become your very own unique “Spice Girl”!
We'll be staying in heated chalets complete with showers and bathroom facilities. There is 24 hour supervision by our ever popular "Den Moms". Meals are in the Dining Hall. All meals & snacks, accommodation and tuition for classes are included. (Students 6 years and under have the option to attend the retreat on Saturday only, which still includes all activities, highland dance classes, meals and evening events.) Upon full payment and registration form, a brochure with more detailed information will be sent out to you.
***NEW: Rachel Cooper, professional dance instructor from Winnipeg will be teaching Hip Hop Highland classes

DanceOuts
Dance-outs are highland dancing performances that are held for groups (upon request) within our community.These are a terrific opportunity for MHDA dancers to practice their dances, dance with friends and show off their talents in front of an appreciative audience. Dancers can register for dance-outs at any time during the dancing year.

Details: “Official Parade and Dedication Ceremonies” of the Selkirk Settlers Monument
(Celebrates the significant role that Scottish peoples, dispossessed during the infamous `Highland Clearances’, played in the history of Canada and Manitoba.)
- Commencing at 1:00 pm from Winnipeg City Hall and concluding at the ‘Scots Monument” approx. 3:00 pm
- A “Meet and Greet Afternoon Ceilidh” may follow the Dedication Ceremonies

Special Note: There is a Formal Dinner Planned on the Saturday Evening.
